School holidays should be a great time for children; a chance to play, relax and have fun. That's why we work hard each year to provide the best performing arts holiday schools for children and young people in Merseyside. Our summer holiday schools combine the best parts of a holiday club with the excitement of performing, guaranteeing a week (or fortnight) of fun for children and young people of all ages.

Musical Theatre Summer Schools.

We have two one week courses.

Our Junior Musical Theatre Summer School for 7-12s will be headed by choreographer Jenna Rushton. Jenna will be joined by teachers from the Performers Singing Department.

Leading Merseyside vocal coach Suzanne O'Keeffe and director/choreographer Craig Thompson will head up our Senior Musical Theatre Summer School fo 13-19s.

Both summer schools covers singing, dancing and musical theatre. There will be the opportunity to work in small groups and also on an individual basis. Each summer school will culminate in a performance for friends and family.

Acting Summer Schools.

Actor and director Sam Donovan who heads our Acting Holiday Schools, will work with participants to put together a full length performance in just 5 days!

The 7-12s Acting Summer School is a fun week working on a specially adapted script. A great introduction to acting and a very popular summer school which includes a performance for all the family.

Participants on the 13-19s Acting Summer School will rehearse and perform a play in a week. The week also covers voice, character development and stagecraft.

The Days and Drop Off/Pick Up

Our summer schools run from 10a.m. - 4p.m. each day, apart from the last day of the course which runs from 10a.m. - 8p.m. as it includes a performance for friends and family.

We schedule breaks for lunch and between rehearsals.

Participants are supervised at all times.

To help those parents who work, we operate a breakfast club and teatime club for flexible drop off and pick up on our junior summer school programmes. Our breakfast club runs from 8a.m.-10a.m. and our teatime club from 4p.m.-6p.m. You can choose to use the breakfast and teatime clubs on an as and when need to basis. The cost of the breakfast and teatime clubs is £2.50 per hour or part thereof.
